Explore the Depths with Wreck Diving
The IANTD Wreck Diver Course is designed for divers who are intrigued by the mystery and history of submerged shipwrecks and other underwater structures. This course teaches you the skills necessary to safely explore wrecks, with a focus on non-penetration and limited penetration dives. You’ll learn how to navigate around and through wrecks while managing the unique challenges these environments present.
Wreck Diving Techniques
In this course, you’ll gain essential skills for safe wreck diving, including how to use guidelines, reels, and other tools to maintain orientation and ensure safe exits during limited penetration dives. The course also covers techniques for avoiding and managing silt-out conditions, which can occur when fine sediments are disturbed, reducing visibility. Additionally, you’ll learn how to assess the structural integrity of wrecks, allowing you to identify safe areas to explore and avoid unstable sections that could pose a hazard.
Dive Planning and Equipment Configuration
The IANTD Wreck Diver Course emphasizes the importance of thorough dive planning tailored to the complexities of wreck environments. You’ll learn how to plan dives that include potential hazards such as entanglement risks, strong currents, and limited visibility. The course also teaches you how to configure your equipment specifically for wreck diving, ensuring that your gear is streamlined and accessible in confined spaces. By the end of the course, you’ll be well-prepared to safely and effectively explore wrecks, both from the outside and within safe limits.
Certification
Upon completing the course, you will receive the IANTD Wreck Diver certification. This certification qualifies you to safely conduct non-penetration and limited penetration dives on wrecks, expanding your diving horizons to include some of the most fascinating underwater sites. With this certification, you’ll have the skills and knowledge to explore wrecks with confidence, understanding how to navigate these environments while minimizing risks.
