The IANTD Normoxic Plus Diver Course is designed for divers seeking to push the limits of normoxic trimix diving using Closed-Circuit Rebreathers (CCR). This course builds on your existing technical diving skills, allowing you to safely dive deeper and longer, using trimix blends with oxygen levels as low as 16%.
Advanced CCR Dive Techniques and Planning
In this course, you’ll dive deeper into the advanced techniques of CCR diving. Learn how to manage more complex dive plans, including multi-stage decompression, gas switches, and optimizing your CCR equipment for extended bottom times at greater depths. This course prepares you for the challenges of deeper normoxic dives, with a focus on safety and precision.
Enhanced Decompression Strategies and Gas Management
The IANTD Normoxic Plus course includes intensive training in decompression theory and practice. You’ll master the use of CCR systems to manage gases efficiently, control your partial pressures, and execute decompression stops with precision. We emphasize the management of helium and oxygen toxicity, ensuring you can handle the demands of deeper, longer dives.
Certification
Upon successful completion, you will earn the IANTD Normoxic Plus Diver certification. This qualification enables you to dive to depths of up to 70 meters (230 feet) with normoxic trimix blends, expanding your diving capabilities beyond standard normoxic limits.
Enrollment Requirements
- Qualified IANTD Rebreather Diver
- Minimum age of 18
- Proof of 100 logged dives, including at least 25 rebreather dives and 50 hours on the unit, with at least 50% logged on the same CCR to be used in the course
- At least 30 dives deeper than 90 fsw (27 msw)
Note: If also certified as Trimix Diver (Open Circuit) with 100 hours on the unit, after completing the CCR Normoxic Trimix program, the instructor can continue to the CCR Trimix program.
